I know there's a lot to read on this page - but it'll probably answer any questions you have prior to purchase, so do please take a gander at different sections below!
* VERTILINE IN LOVE *
Hers is a lifetime of love...
and in it fell a collection of treasures,
a box of curiosities,
bundled up in attics, wardrobes and other
such secret places.
These trinkets were her memories.
Far she has travelled, and wide
in so many glorious directions
with her dark and dreaming heart.
Adventure and lovers were the air she breathed
and the wine she drank.
Such a life of longing and
feeling
cannot be swept aside.
* ABOUT ME *
Me: excessive tea drinker (the more flowery the better), would-be knitter, high-heels-on-all-days wearer, herb-growing, Kate Bush lover.
I love all things vintage and fairytale, so with the help of my likewise-enthralled friend Emily (http://lostintheforest.etsy.com) we devised a fairytale world of a vintage lady named Vertiline, and decided to create a shop where all the items on offer would be caught up in her adventuresome tales (you may have noticed all the story snippets in the listings). With me moving down to Sheffield from Edinburgh (boy-related!), life had taken me and Emily in different directions; Emily still works in Edinburgh plotting and planning Magpie Markets (fabulous indie craft fairs), and I took up the Vertiline mantle.
I love vintage fabric, and lace (ohmygosh), and embroidery, lots of which you will soon see scattered around the shop. I also love hunting for beautiful vintage clothes, it's so much fun being their custodian for a while and then sending them off to new lives, to be loved and cherished.
Currently I sell my own items on Etsy, but I'm also in the process of setting up an online shop via http://www.vertilineinlove.com where I will be selling a myriad of lovely stuff from other wonderful handcrafters. Please visit and sign up for the mailing list to hear when the new shop opens, and other exclusive discounts!
* VINTAGE CONDITION CHART*
Mint: it looks brand spanking new!
Excellent: previously worn or used with no notable flaws
Good: previously worn with minor noted flaws, though still wearable
Fair: numerous noted flaws, possibly wearable with care or after repair

Note: I wash items using Ecover (ecover.com), a natural plant-based laundry powder for sensitive skin.
* TAKING CARE OF VINTAGE ITEMS *
Vintage items are delicate and should be handled with care. Please handwash scarves and garments of clothing in cold to lukewarm water with a soap/detergent designed for delicates. For bigger garments (coats/dresses), consult a professional clothes cleaner. Spot clean bags with a damp cloth.
Thank you, kittens! x Claira
